<p>We are seeking a skilled Applications Support and Development Officer (Geospatial) – to join our team and help us design, develop, and maintain our geospatial data infrastructure.</p>
<p><strong>As a key member of the Geospatial Team, you will:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Help the council to exploit the value in our GIS data holdings.</li>
<li>Undertake significant projects which improve and combine data from back office and customer-facing systems.</li>
<li>Make sure our data, and data shared by others is of the highest quality, highly available, usable, and shareable by rigorous standard setting and quality controls.</li>
<li>Work with other members of the GIS team and the wider Council GIS community, to deliver geospatial analysis, support workflows in our corporate geospatial products and services, delivering continuous insight and value to our staff and residents</li>
<li>Utilise the best of modern GIS and data technology platforms, including ongoing investigation and research into emerging technology.</li>
<li>Support the Geospatial platforms of Walsall Council with skills associated with Software Development and Information Technology.</li>
</ul>

<p>We lead and support the creation of business data, manage the GIS architecture to ensure we provide, clean, reliable and reusable GIS data formats.  These in turn can then be aggregated to combine and enhance data from a variety of systems, creating data sets to drive insights and opportunities to improve performance, aid operational services, CRM and service delivery.</p>

<p>For this role the successful candidates must undergo a Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check.  BPSS is the minimum standard to ensure the identity and integrity of an employee who has access to official information using secure networks linking central government and local authorities.  A BPSS check involves four main elements; Identity Check, National and Immigration Status, Employment History (last 3 years) and Verification of Criminal Record (unspent convictions only).</p>
<p>This post is covered by the Government’s Code of Practice on the English Language Fluency Duty for public sector workers.  The postholder will be required to communicate verbally with customers and provide advice and/or information in accurate spoken English.</p>

<p><strong>Compliance and Assurance &#8211; Compliance Assurance Operator – Counter Terrorism Policing HQ</strong></p>

<p><strong>Salary: The starting salary is £43,227, which includes allowances totalling £2,841.</strong></p>
<p><strong>The salary is broken down as £40,386 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £45,615. Plus, a location allowance of £1,841 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.</strong></p>
<p><strong>Job Summary</strong></p>
<p>Could you manage and uphold compliance and assurance standards to support national security?</p>

<p>You will be working within the Security Operations Centre (SOC) under the Counter Terrorism Policing Headquarters (CTPHQ) Compliance and Assurance (C&amp;A) Pillar and will oversee a number of governance and assurance functions on behalf of CT Policing (CTP) across the UK. This will include implementing CTPs overall security strategy and act as the central point of collaboration in coordinated efforts to monitor, assess, and defend against attacks and protect the organisations assets.</p>
<p>CTPHQ is the corporate centre for CTP and provides operational and support services to the CTP Network at a national level, including all CT and Protective Security Commands.</p>
<p>The CTP SOC teams as detailed below are currently expanding, so are looking for innovative and highly motivated people with the ability to work independently as well as within a growing team, to help deliver key governance objectives.</p>
<p>The role of the Compliance &amp; Protective Monitoring Unit (CPMU) is to provide security, audit and compliance across all National CT systems to establish associated accreditation requirements. CPMU ensure systems are only accessed by suitably cleared staff and identify, manage and mitigate areas of risk appertaining to National CT systems.</p>
<p>The role of the Information Security Unit (ISU) is to manage and develop new and legacy information systems accreditation services for CTP. ISU undertake Information Assurance projects and initiatives based on business cases or upon request and write and develop Information Assurance policies, standards and guidelines for CTP.</p>
<p>The role of the Physical Security Unit (PSU) is to safeguard CT assets and prevent unauthorised physical access to the CT estate and deny attackers from gaining access. PSU work collaboratively with UKNACE and other advisors to ensure timely security sweeps occur to maintain the integrity of the CT estate with partner accreditation and enhance security through the development of administrative, technical and physical security controls.</p>
<p>The role of the Security Engagement &amp; Coordination Unit (SECU) is to manage the coordinated implementation of the SOCs strategic framework and work plan, both nationally and locally. The SECU will establish mechanisms for regional integration and networking to develop active partnerships across national CTP Compliance functions.</p>
<p><strong>Vetting</strong></p>
<p>This post requires access to the most sensitive intelligence material on a daily basis. Applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo National Security Vetting (NSV) Developed Vetting (DV) level before taking up the post.</p>
<p>Additionally, this material is of particular sensitivity to the UK and its distribution must be restricted to UK nationals. In approved circumstances dual nationals (of which one element is British) may also be granted access. However, in the event that potential conflicts of interest cannot be managed the post holder will not be able to see the intelligence material and will not be able to perform their duties. For the purpose of safeguarding national security and in line with Cabinet Office Policy, supported by Section 82(2) to (4) of the Police Reform Act (2002), applicants who do not hold or acquire Security Check (enhanced) (SC(e)) <strong>OR</strong> Developed Vetting (DV) clearance and meet the nationality requirements cannot be offered the post.</p>
<p><strong>Confidentiality Agreement</strong></p>

<p><strong>About the role:</strong><br />
The Support Analyst is a critical part of the diverse and exciting technology operations at Somerset House. Working within the IT Department’s helpdesk function, the post holder will be a primary contact for 1st, 2nd and 3rd line IT and network support. You will help to ensure our IT services to our residents, members, and the Trust staff, are of the highest quality. You will work across a range of technologies and systems, from desktops to SaaS, maintaining ownership of cases from start to finish. Additionally, the role will have the opportunity to participate in the implementation of various IT solutions and projects as we work to improve our digital capabilities.</p>
<p>Please note that this is an onsite role, based at Somerset House in central London, running Monday &#8211; Friday.</p>
<h2>Responsibilities:</h2>
<ul>
<li>To be the primary point of contact for residents, members, event partners, and Trust IT support issues and requests. This includes 1st, 2nd, and 3rd line support.</li>
<li>Resolve all reported IT issues in a professional and timely manner, documenting all activity on the helpdesk ticketing system, conforming to SLA’s and adjusting priorities to deal with urgent issues and requests.</li>
<li>Monitor and manage ticket queues, alerts, automated tickets, and perform daily checks on various systems.</li>
<li>Proactively research and identify solutions that may benefit the team and the Trust.</li>
<li>Where appropriate, escalate issues to external vendors as required and monitor the escalation to ensure satisfactory resolution.</li>
<li>Assist in the delivery of IT services across all events and event spaces, including wired connections, wireless connections, AV components, and VoIP telephony.</li>
<li>Assist with the configuration of resident office moves, liaising closely with the property team, and the IT Solutions Lead.</li>
<li>As required, to assist in the testing and implementing of new solutions and adaptations/upgrades to IT services.</li>
<li>Undertake the training of Trust staff members as required.</li>
<li>Where occasionally required by key live events, exhibitions, and regular system maintenance taking place at Somerset House, to be able to shift working hours and days to provide support coverage.</li>
<li>Create and update IT and related documentation to allow retention and sharing of knowledge within the team and the Trust.</li>
<li>Participate as a team player in the support of colleagues within the department and across the Trust’s operations.</li>
<li>Undertake other duties that may be asked of you from time to time.</li>
</ul>
<h2>Skills, knowledge &amp; expertise required for the role:</h2>
<p><strong>Experience</strong>:</p>
<ul>
<li>Demonstrable technical knowledge of working in an IT service desk or team.</li>
<li>Demonstrable knowledge supporting and installing operating systems (Windows 10/11 primarily, some Windows Server 2012/2016/2019, some Mac OS) and standard productivity applications (Office 365, Teams, OneDrive, Adobe, AutoCAD, etc.).</li>
<li>Demonstrable knowledge supporting desktop hardware (primarily Dell laptops) and mobile devices (iOS and Android mobile phones and tablets).</li>
<li> Supporting of Active Directory, Office 365 (including Exchange), and Azure users, including password resets, account creation, and group policies.</li>
<li>Demonstrable knowledge of cyber security concepts and best practice, including Multi Factor Authentication, phishing, ransomware, passwords, firewalls, social engineering.</li>
<li>ITIL Foundation certification and technical Microsoft qualifications are desirable.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Skills</strong>:</p>
<ul>
<li>A good knowledge of network infrastructure, both wired and wireless.</li>
<li>A good knowledge of logical network concepts, including VLANs, IPs, DNS and DHCP.</li>
<li>Strong communication skills with the flexibility to deal with a varied customer base.</li>
<li>Coaching or training end users in technical expertise.</li>
<li>Knowledge of VoIP telephony.</li>
<li>Knowledge of system backups, for example, Microsoft Azure Backup Service.</li>
<li>Skills in supporting a range of specific solutions are desirable, including hypervisors (Hyper-V), Cisco Meraki, Mimecast, Bitdefender, AlienVault SIEM, PaperCut, PRTG, Jira, EPOS systems, PDQ Deploy, Access Finance, Nexudus, Priava or similar events management software, and Tessitura.</li>
</ul>
