What you’ll be doing

Own and improve a multi-site network estate (Anfield, offices, remote sites)

Wi-Fi performance and user experience

Identify recurring issues and implement permanent fixes (not workarounds)

Support ongoing transition to modern, secure network architecture

What we’re looking for

We’re interested in engineers who:

Have experience supporting complex, multi-site enterprise networks

Have experience in migrating from a traditional network to an SD WAN

Are comfortable across:

Understand modern networking concepts, such as:

SD-WAN

Zero Trust / SASE

Network segmentation

Can lead incidents and problem resolution, not just follow tickets

Take a proactive, ownership mindset to improving services

Can communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Nice to have (but not essential)

Experience in broadcast, media or high-availability environments

Exposure to cloud networking (Azure / AWS)

Network automation / scripting awareness

Vendor certifications (CCNA/CCNP or equivalent)

What success looks like

Network issues identified and resolved before users raise tickets

Improved Wi-Fi and connectivity performance across key sites

Clear, measurable improvements in resilience and failover

Strong collaboration across IT teams

Why should you apply?

This is a full-time permanent role working 35 hours per week. Your main base will be our Anfield office, you will also be required to work at other LFC offices from time to time, as required.

Job Title: Principal Developer & Team Lead

Salary: £51,400 – £68,800

Location: Cambridge/Hybrid with 40-60% of time in the office

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Full time 35 hours per week

As a team lead with strong technical instincts you’re ready to take the next step with more scope, more shaping of what gets built, more influence over how things are done but you’re not ready to put down your tools.

We are Cambridge University Press & Assessment, a world-leading academic publisher and assessment organisation and a proud part of the University of Cambridge.

You’ll lead transitions taking place in our organisation: migrating legacy enterprise applications to cloud-native AWS architectures, while helping us establish two practices from close to scratch including Site Reliability Engineering and AI development.

About the role

Alongside that broader technical leadership, you’ll be the principal developer on a focused project within the programme deep ownership of a specific delivery, hands-in-the-code, designing and building it end-to-end. You’ll spend most of your time close to the code: setting direction, setting the standard in design and review, and writing code alongside the team.

You’ll also be the line manager for a small team of developers. We’re not looking for a fully formed people leader we’re looking for someone who cares about the people around them and wants to grow into that part of the role. You’ll have support and development to grow into it over time.

The bulk of your focus is on the technical work. You’ll be the principal developer on a focused project within the migration programme your own delivery to design, build and own. Around that, you’ll lead the wider migration to AWS, build the DevOps automation and observability that lets SRE practices take hold, and establish the standards for how we use AI responsibly in education products. You’ll set the technical bar through code reviews, design conversations and your own contributions not from a distance.

On the team side, you’ll be the line manager for a small team of developers: one-to-ones, development conversations, helping people find their next step. As you settle in, you’ll take on more of the wider people work recruitment, performance, identifying where the team needs to grow in AI/ML and SRE. We’ll support you to learn this side of the role; we don’t expect you to arrive with it fully formed.

You’ll deliver in agile squads alongside architects, product owners, technical leads, SREs and infrastructure teams, and you’ll be the technical voice in stakeholder conversations about what’s possible.

This position has been classified as a hybrid role, requiring the selected candidate to typically spend 40-60% of their time collaborating and connecting face-to-face at their dedicated location. Aside from our hybrid principles, other flexible working requests will be considered from the first day of employment, including other work arrangements should you require adjustments due to a disability or long-term health condition.

About You

A current or recent team lead ready to step up technically. The bar that matters most:

You’ve led developers before, formally or informally, and people have grown around you

You’re fluent in two or more modern languages and you still write code regularly

You’ve worked with AWS (or an equivalent cloud) in anger not just touched it

You understand CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and what observability actually means in production

You can hold a conversation about event-driven architecture, microservices and security in cloud environments at a level beyond the textbook

You communicate clearly with engineers and non-engineers, and you’re open to growing the people-leadership side of the role with support

If you meet the above minimum requirements, we encourage you to apply. Your application will be even stronger if you can also demonstrate the following desirable criteria:

Hands-on exposure to AI/ML in production systems

Experience helping establish SRE or observability practice early on

A track record of modernising legacy systems without breaking them

What this role offers someone taking the next step

A small team to lead and learn from. A leadership team that expects you to stay close to the code, and that will support you to grow as a people leader at your own pace. And work that has real reach the systems you help build serve millions of learners, teachers and researchers worldwide.

About Amro Data Labs

Amro Data Labs is a specialist intelligence, AI and automation consultancy for the real estate investment and asset management sector. Our flagship client, Amro Partners, is a high-growth European real estate investment firm focused on the Living Sector.

Our team works at the intersection of data science, AI/ML, engineering, and automation to deliver institutional-grade decision infrastructure.

About the Role

We’re looking for a fast-learner, early to mid-career Data Engineer to join our growing London team and help power our real estate market intelligence platform. Working alongside our Data team in our London office, you’ll design and maintain the ETL pipelines, scrapers, and transformation workflows that capture millions of data points across the UK and Europe daily.

This is a hands-on engineering role: you’ll be building pipelines, shipping production code, and shaping how we work with data, not just maintaining what’s already there.

We operate a hybrid working model, with team members typically in our London office around 3 days a week. Exact arrangements may vary by team and manager. We’re open to considering visa sponsorship for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain efficient and reliable data pipelines using Python and GCP, supporting daily ingestion of rental and availability data across multiple geographies.

Develop and maintain Python-based web scrapers (Playwright, BS4).

Write and optimise SQL transformation workflows (Dataform, BigQuery) to turn raw scraper output into clean, analytics-ready datasets.

Build and maintain LLM-driven workflows within our ETL pipelines, including sensible checks for output quality, hallucination, and graceful failure.

Implement data quality and validation frameworks across our extraction and transformation layers to ensure integrity at scale.

Collaborate closely with the wider Data team and cross-functional stakeholders to support data-driven decision-making across the business.

Stay current with developments and best practices in data engineering and bring them into how we work.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.

3+ years of professional experience as a Data Engineer or in a closely related role.

Strong Python skills, including object-oriented programming and building production ETL/ELT pipelines. 3+ years of professional, hands-on experience is ideal.

Strong SQL skills, able to write and optimise advanced queries for transformation and analytics. 3+ years of professional, hands-on experience is ideal.

Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms. GCP (BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Cloud Run, Firestore, Dataform) is preferred, but equivalent experience on AWS or Azure is welcome. We care more about depth than the specific provider.

Experience working with web scraping libraries (Playwright, Scrapy, or similar).

Working knowledge of LLM APIs (OpenAI, Gemini, or similar) and how to integrate them into data pipelines.

Familiarity with Git, Linux, Docker, and CI/CD workflows (GitHub Actions or similar).

Experience with NoSQL datastores (Firestore or similar).

Strong problem-solving instincts and good written and verbal communication.

Experience with data testing frameworks (Pytest, Great Expectations, Dataplex).

Preferred Additional Skills

Hands-on experience with AI-assisted IDEs and LLM-powered coding tools is desired.

Experience with Terraform or other IaC tools.

Partnerships Manager – AI

Salary: £45,100 – £60,400

Location: Cambridge/Hybrid with 40-60% time in the office

Contract: Fixed Term Contract/Secondment for 12 months.

Hours: Full time 35 hours per week

Curious about how AI will shape the future of education?

We are Cambridge University Press & Assessment, a world-leading academic publisher and assessment organisation and a proud part of the University of Cambridge.

We’re building our capability in AI, and this role sits right at the centre of it. You’ll help us identify, shape and progress partnerships with leading AI organisations, tech companies and research institutions — turning strategy into real, workable collaborations.

About the role

Sitting in International Education (Education Futures team), you’ll work across teams in CUP&A to understand priorities, spot where external partners can add value, and move conversations forward.

This is a hands-on, fast-moving role focused on partnership coordination, stakeholder management and turning ideas into action.

You’ll work across teams to understand priorities, spot where external partners can add value, and move conversations forward. A big part of the role is keeping momentum — tracking activity, managing conversations, and making sure the right people stay aligned.

You’ll focus on mapping the AI landscape, building a pipeline of partners, and progressing priority conversations. Over time, you’ll also support delivery of partnership activity — helping turn opportunities into real outcomes

Additional responsibilities and accountabilities include:

Mapping the AI and EdTech landscape to identify relevant partners and opportunities

Building and managing a pipeline of AI partnership opportunities

Coordinating internal teams to progress partnership discussions and next steps

Managing stakeholder relationships across internal teams and external partners

Tracking engagement, reporting progress and keeping activity organised and visible

Supporting development of partnership proposals, pilots and collaborations

Ensuring partnership activity is structured, documented and moving at pace

Contributing to improved ways of working, coordination and insight sharing across the organisation

About You

You’re highly organised, self-motivated and comfortable working at pace. You enjoy bringing people together, moving conversations forward and turning ideas into structured plans.

You’ll likely bring:

Experience working in AI, EdTech or technology-driven environments

Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills

Experience coordinating partnerships, projects or cross-team activity

Excellent organisational and administrative skills

Confidence working across multiple priorities and teams

Ability to spot opportunities and move them forward

Strong communication skills and attention to detail

Commercial awareness and the ability to assess partnership value

If you meet the above minimum requirements, we encourage you to apply. Your application will be even stronger if you can also demonstrate the following desirable criteria:

Experience in partnership or alliance management

International experience or a second language

Knowledge of education products, markets or the wider education sector
