Job opportunity for a Cloud Database Administrator for a leading specialist insurance company in London.
Fixed term contract – £65K – Hybrid
The job
Collaborate with data engineers, developers and data architects to design and implement scalable and efficient database solutions in the cloud.
Knowledge of data management capabilities and tools metadata, standardization/validation services, data quality, reference and master data management
Work with Data Architect to manage the migration efforts to migrate our on-prem DWH to the cloud.
Perform routine database administration tasks, including backups (where needed), restores, and monitoring.
Evaluate and monitor the performance of the cloud data lake system.
Implement and enforce security policies to safeguard sensitive data.
Set up of new users, SSO setup, SCIM provisioning.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to database management.
Proactively identify and resolve database-related issues.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve database-related problems.
Develop and maintain automation scripts for routine database tasks.
Contribute to the Cloud Data Lake SharePoint page and build internal content
Essential:
Financial Service or Insurance industry experience
Proven experience as a Database Administrator – on cloud-based environments.
Knowledge of cloud database management systems
Experience with cloud platforms
Proficiency in database performance tuning and optimization.
Good data knowledge, dealing with agile ingestion of structured, semi- structured and un-structured data.
SQL Server & Microsoft stack.
Data Lake experience and solid understanding of other data layers.
