Database Developer

Join a dynamic team where off-track talent is just as crucial as those in the spotlight. As a Database Developer working on mission-critical applications, you will play a key role in supporting high-profile events and associated series.

Role Overview:

Reporting to the Senior Architect and Development Manager, you will:

• Proactively support and develop databases for both existing and new applications that are essential to the timing and production of major events.
• Gain a deep understanding of all systems and be ready to assist with bug fixing, development, or testing across the entire environment.
• Participate in team activities such as demonstrations, design reviews, and system architecture discussions.
• Develop a broad skill set covering all aspects of the data suite, with opportunities to learn and implement new technologies.
• Provide technical support on-site during multiple event weekends throughout the year.
• Work flexible hours as needed to meet project time-lines and ensure timely delivery.

Requirements:

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent commercial experience.
• Solid experience with relational database management systems, particularly SQL-based platforms.
• Proficient in writing and executing data manipulation and data definition language commands.
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to effectively evaluate and discuss technical issues.
• Familiarity with data integration tools and processes, such as ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) methodologies.
• Experience in optimising database performance, including query tuning and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of data modeling concepts, indexing strategies, and data integrity principles.
• Understanding of database security, backup, and archiving procedures in large-scale environments.
• Exposure to non-relational database technologies and cloud computing platforms.
• Ability to interact with end-users to gather requirements and resolve issues effectively.
