IT Engineer

A highly successful IT and telecommunications services company based in central London seek a communicative IT Technician to join their busy team, To support in day-to-day operational issues of the Networks & IT Department across UK and Europe. You will act as 1st line IT support for internal customers by resolving or escalating 1st and 2nd line technical issues.

TYPE: Permanent, Full Time

WORKING DAYS: Mon-Fri 9am – 5pm

LOCATION: Central London – in office work

SALARY: Up to £32,500 + benefits (including paid commuting)

IT ENGINEER RESPONSIBILITIES:

• This role is responsible for handling day-to-day operations & improvement of IT services and systems.
• First line support for Active Directory, Office 365, and other systems managed by the telehouse team overseeing the Pan-Euro infrastructure for group companies.
• First and second line support for internal systems, such as, intra, telephony, network customer management (FileMaker), customer access network, monitoring, HR system, etc.
• Monitor ticket systems to swiftly and effectively address/allocate/escalate IT issues to meet both, user requirements and departmental KPIs on ticket processing rates.
• Open, process and close tickets where possible and required, and ensure appropriate communication with the stakeholders (users, internal teams, vendors/suppliers, etc.) on arising issues.
• On-board new users and process leavers according to company’s procedures and best practices.
• Provide necessary support, training and advice to users.
• Change management: daily back-ups and checks, anti-virus checks and capacity management monitoring.
• Install, support, and maintain IT services and solutions to users.
• Liaise with suppliers, e.g. regarding maintenance contracts, and evaluate their performances to maximize efficiency and return of investment.
• Maintain stock levels and order equipment, service office equipment (e.g., printers, monitors, conference systems, etc.), as required.
• Support regular systems maintenance as and when required.
• Provide support to all office locations according to the team rota.
• Support requirement definition, vendor negotiation, project management and tests related to projects aimed to upgrade and enhance internal systems and maximize employee experience.
• Liaise with HQ and other group companies to deliver group-wide policy requirements.
• Ad hoc requests from line manager.

IT ENGINEER IDEAL CANDIDATE:

• Proven experience of working as first line IT Support Engineer role, acting as the first point of contact.
• Excellent knowledge of various Microsoft Office products, email systems, active directory and security products.
• Good understanding of user requirements.
• Knowledge of helpdesk systems, network monitoring and daily backup processes.
• Experience in working towards KPIs.
• Good knowledge of user hardware (PC, laptops, etc.) and practical skills to provide assistance with their maintenance to the users.
• Ability to carry out processes and checks on a routine basis.
• Project management experience is preferred.
