Cisco 9800 Wireless Controller Implementation: Oversee the implementation and configuration of Cisco 9800 series wireless controllers, ensuring seamless integration with existing network infrastructure. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful deployment and operation of the wireless controller platform.
WiFi Implementation and Optimisation: Design and implement WiFi solutions to meet the organisation’s connectivity and coverage requirements. Optimise WiFi performance, security, and reliability through effective configuration and tuning of access points, authentication mechanisms, and network policies.
Network Security: Collaborate with the security team to integrate robust security measures into the network infrastructure design. Ensure that the WiFi implementation complies with industry standards and best practices for network security.
Performance Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Establish monitoring mechanisms to continuously assess the performance and health of the network infrastructure. Develop proactive troubleshooting strategies to identify and resolve network-related issues in a timely manner.
Vendor Management: Engage with vendors and service providers to evaluate, select, and procure network infrastructure components, including Cisco 9800 series controllers, WiFi access points, and related hardware and software.
Documentation and Standardisation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of network infrastructure designs, configurations, and processes. Establish and enforce standardisation of network implementation practices to ensure consistency and compliance with organisational policies.
Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT operations, application developers, and business stakeholders, to align network infrastructure solutions with business requirements. Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders to articulate the benefits and implications of proposed network architecture designs.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
A master’s degree or relevant certifications (eg, Cisco CCIE, CCNP, CWNP) is preferred.
Essential Skills
Comprehensive understanding of Cisco 9800 series wireless controllers, including hands-on experience in configuration, administration, and troubleshooting.
In-depth knowledge of WiFi standards, protocols, and best practices, with a track record of successful WiFi network design and implementation.
Proficiency in network security principles and practices, including encryption, authentication, and access control mechanisms.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate complex technical challenges and develop innovative solutions

Experience
Proven experience as a Network Infrastructure Architect, Network Engineer, or similar role with a focus on Cisco 9800 series wireless controllers and WiFi implementation.
Experience with network monitoring and performance tuning tools, such as Cisco Prime Infrastructure, to ensure optimal network performance.
