About Network Rail
Improving train performance is top of the agenda for our passengers and our stakeholders. The Director of Network Performance is a unique and exciting opportunity to be a leader in delivering the most important challenge for our industry. This role is critical in leading teams, bringing together people to solve problems, driving change, and co-ordinating across routes and industry partners.
You will lead the network performance team supporting performance recovery across the network and using the insights to enable Network Rail and the industry to understand in depth what drives performance and what is required to sustain high performance. Your role will be pivotal in driving long-term performance improvements and ensuring the railway industry meets and exceeds performance benchmarks.
As a strategic leader, your day will revolve around driving the national performance improvement strategy for the rail industry, focusing on enhancing train performance for both passengers and freight users. You will oversee the day-to-day operations of the national performance team, ensuring high-quality performance management and insights, while addressing customer and end-user needs by implementing best practices from around the industry.
This role sits within the Network Operations function within System Operator. Network Operations leads the development and implementation of the National Operational Railway Strategy for Network Rail, as well as delivering the operations core business and acting as professional heads.

Duration: Permanent – This role is a full-time opportunity; flexible working patterns will be considered.
Location: This role can be based either from our London Waterloo office or the Quadrant in Milton Keynes.
