Lloyd’s is seeking to recruit a DevSecOps lead, you will be leading a cross-functional, self-organising team advancing our DevSecOps capability within our software development lifecycle; engaging business product owners, Squad Leads and technology project managers
Principal Accountabilities
Accountable for the delivery of DevSecOps workloads across SMO, Strategy and Project Portfolio workloads.
Leading a team of DevSecOps engineers, advising Squad leads, Project Managers and technical subject manager experts aligned to our technical delivery strategy.
Define a clear ways of working strategy for the DevSecOps engineers to meet supply and demand resourcing requirements.
Provide thought leadership in developing standardised, automated build processes across Lloyd’s projects.
Developing the automation of security and compliance capabilities in support of DevSecOps processes (SDLC)
Innovating new ways of working for the delivery of digital, front and back office systems
Leading on Lloyd’s DevSecOps strategy for products; designing, coding, testing and implementing new functionality and supporting existing services, embracing a continuous delivery mind-set.
Specialist knowledge of provisioning of environments via an automated method either on premise or in the cloud.
Guidance and strategy for product teams on automation of software builds
Evaluation of DevSecOps tooling and guidance for product teams and the business in architecture, standards and principles for adoption.
Define KPI’s and KRI’s, and be accountable for their achievement
Create business cases for automation process enhancements and adoption of DevSecOps tooling
Provide strategic vision and leadership for improving the DevSecOps engineering infrastructure through tool implementation, applying industry best practices, and streamlining processes.
Managing the Configuration of environments, to allow for automation of environment deployments
Build strong relationships with the Domain leads aligning with the DevSecOps and Security
Engineering manager and the technical delivery strategy.
Foster relationships with the Development and Test Managers ensuring that our SDLC, principles and standards are adhered to.
Work with the Security Engineers to build and maintain standards of security tooling and practices across our application estate.
Lead a team of DevSecOps engineers aliging with our delivery strategy.
Mentor, guide, coach and provide leadership to delivery Squads within Group Technology.
Foster an environment of collaboration, motivating Squads to share information and experience, engendering cross-discipline interaction.
Identify opportunities for others and prepare them for future roles in light with their aspirations.
Contribute to an open and transparent culture of risk management and demonstrate a strong awareness of the risks that should be managed within the responsibilities of the role.
Skills and Knowledge
Customer-centric approach to delivering appropriate business solutions
Application lifecycle management and project delivery, using Agile methodologies such as SCRUM and Kanban
Knowledge of cloud computing – Azure/AWS/GCP
Branching and merging strategy of database deployment within Azure DevOps
Knowledge Azure Network & Security Controls – NSG, Load Balancer, Application Gateway, WAF, Route Tables, Azure or Third party Firewall Knowledge, VPN Gateway, Key vaults
DevOps concepts, eg Continuous integration, automated testing, infrastructure-as-code, container deployments and cloud technologies
Windows Server 2008 and above
Powershell scripting language knowledge
Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as a Code – ability to automate and script your work with PowerShell, ARM or Terraform .
Working with software containers (eg Docker) and continuous integration tools
Performance monitoring of underlying infrastructure and application technologies
Working as part of a collaborative, self-organising agile team
Experience of working in a fast-paced Technology environment
Broad knowledge of technology infrastructure that Lloyd’s has implemented to underpin its application development
Substantive problem solving skills, including the ability to apply creative and innovative thinking, challenge the status quo and drive beneficial process improvements
Ability to facilitate workshops and effective solution identification
Ability to manage competing deadlines and prioritise responsibilities to effectively meet business needs.
Excellent relationship management skills, including the ability to negotiate, agree and then manage the scope of activities
An ability to architect, define, defend, and drive technical infrastructure and application decisions and initiatives
Good understanding of continuous integration, continuous delivery and test automation and its application
Excellent interpersonal skills, written/oral communication and presentation skills.
