Engineering Manager (React, Node, Python) – Hybrid – greenfield Full Time

Engineering Manager is required by this leading Product company as they look to bring their development back in-house and build out the functionality on an already-successful platform, operating in a niche space with a fantastic client base. Reporting directly to the CTO you’ll form part of a collaborative, Agile function as they build new product offerings operating at enterprise level, so if greenfield, modern, scalable application builds are what you like to be involved in, working for a very well respected and forward-thinking CTO is what drives you please contact me for further information and a full spec. This is a key time in the company’s growth, they are already successful and want to push their product range into other areas, partnering with Google on a number of elements you’ll be adding real value and join a growing tech function which will crate future growth opportunities.

Responsibilities will include –

• Team Leadership: Provide strong technical leadership to a team of software engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, innovation, and excellence, adopting React, Typescript, Node, Python, GCP.
• Provide technical guidance and make strategic decisions to ensure successful project execution
• Mentoring and Skill Development: Coach and mentor team members, fostering their professional growth and promoting knowledge sharing within the team. Identify skill gaps and provide training opportunities as needed.
• Hands on coding background – ideally across the same stack, or include workable knowledge of Python, React/Typescript, Node
• Ensuring delivery from internal and external suppliers are of the standard required, pushing back when any issues arise
• Code Quality and Standards: Ensure adherence to coding standards, code review processes, and best practices to maintain high-quality codebase and optimize development efficiency.
• Project Management: Collaborate closely with leadership and product team to identify and prioritise backlog and deliverables.
• Technical Innovation: Stay up to date with emerging technologies, tools, and frameworks related to the relevant full stack development.
• Make recommendations for adoption when appropriate.
• Quality Assurance: Work closely with a small QA team to establish testing strategies, automate testing processes, and ensure the delivery of reliable, bug-free software.
• Reporting and Documentation: Prepare regular progress reports, documenting project status against key milestones and deliverables.

Ideally you can demonstrate various aspects of your work across –

• Managing a team developing scalable application architectures
• Building, testing, and managing APIs, integrations, and automation tools
• Background in React/Typescript development, and/or Python Back End
• Google environment is also a big plus
