Head of Engineering (PHP 8 AWS) London / WFH to £110k

Do you have a strong PHP software development background combined with leadership / managerial skills?

You could be progressing your career as Head of Engineering at a growing tech company that are experiencing great success with their SaaS client / supply management platform and some big name clients.

As Head of Engineering you’ll head up the technology teams across the business and bring all development inhouse. You’ll ensure engineering best practice, cultivating a team environment with strong collaboration and high quality standards.

The tech stack is based on PHP 8 with Laravel deploying to AWS. There are technical challenges around complexity and scalability; you’ll help to make architectural decisions, conduct code reviews and be involved with technical discussions and decision making.

This is a high profile role in which you’ll take ownership of and represent the engineering function at board level meetings and develop strategy.

Location / WFH:

There’s a hybrid work from home policy with three days in the London, City office (which has amazing views).

Requirements:

• You have strong engineering leadership and management experience
• You have a background with PHP development, they’re using PHP 8 – able to conduct code reviews and make architectural decisions
• You have a good knowledge of Heroku, AWS and CI/ CD
• You have experience of working on complex, scalable systems
• You have a strong understanding of Computer Science fundamentals such as OOP, Data Structures, Design Patterns and software engineering best practice
• You have a good knowledge of Agile development methodologies
• You have excellent communication and collaboration skills
