Hybrid – Must drive and have vehicle. – 2 days per week onsite – Hampshire, with sites in Bristol, Birmingham, London.
Hours 9.00 – 5.30 – Monday to Friday
The Project Engineer provides technical designs and costed time estimates to the sales team to ensure projects are scoped correctly with the right products, services, and infrastructure.
Commercially aware when engaging with customers and members of the team. Has authority to contribute to the creation of bids and tenders and has authority to manage and work with 3rd party contractors to align suitable resources to projects.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
* Delivery of project services for customers within specialist technical areas and assist in the delivery of roadmaps where appropriate.
* To complete technical installations of complex projects for customers including the planning, execution and washup of projects with a focus on time budget and standards.
* Creating project engineering tasks and project plans for professional services.
* Delivering training for colleagues and customers.
* To deliver on standard KPIs and SLA targets encompassing, but not limited to:
o Billable time
o Target vs actual delivery time on projects
o Reduction in time taken vs time charged on repeatable project work through the creation of a repeatable library of templates, tools (including calculator and automation) and documentation to improve the efficiency and delivery of projects
* Providing best-fit solution recommendations when engaged with customers and partners, considering budget and value for money.
* Adhere to all ISO compliance guidelines that the company is certified for. Identify areas of breach, for example, reaction to incidents or threats and assist in the improvement of and coaching in department processes.
* From time to time a Project Engineer may need to act as a point of technical escalation for the Professional Services, Reactive and Proactive Engineering teams to help troubleshoot and resolve complex technical incidents.
* To add customer value in the delivery and sales engagement process (pre-sales, including the writing and submission of bids and tenders) where advice and specialist knowledge are required to propose the best solution for the customer and train the internal teams on this.
* To Identify and promote opportunities to increase revenue across the Company’s customer base.
* Support new business team and where necessary work as part of the implementation team including introducing and managing 3rd parties to ensure project delivery is implemented according to the recommendations.
* Keep up to date with best practices in our key products and suggest and recommend changes to the business and processes to improve the performance of a customer’s IT service.
* Maintain high quality in delivery and sponsor continuous improvement. Own, maintain and adhere to all elements of the Company’s ISO standards.

Qualifications & Experience – Essential
* Successful proven track record in the design and delivery of technical projects to customers.
* Proven experience in customer deployments and supporting large scale project implementations.
* Proven experience completing migrations to Microsoft Office 365 and Azure.
* Minimum of 24 month’s work experience in a Project Engineer’s role in a managed service provider environment.
* A demonstrable experience in working with multiple technologies within a Managed Service Provider.
* 2 years of experience in working with organisations at the C-Level.
* Certification in at least 3 cloud technologies including but not limited to:
o Mimecast Certified Product Professional
o Cisco Meraki Solutions Specialist
o Microsoft 365 Certified:
o Modern Desktop Administrator Associate
o Microsoft Teams Administrator Associate
o Azure Solutions Architect Expert
o Enterprise Administrator Expert
o Microsoft Power Platform Fundamentals
o Relevant storage/networking/hardware qualification
* Extensive experience in installing and administrating MS Windows Server and Client technologies up to Windows 11 (minimum 48 months).
* Experience with Unified Communications, Voice networks and VOIP solutions.
* Proven experience designing and supporting complex networks.
* Proven ability in project planning and product management.
* Excellent computing and technical skills.
* Exceptional coordination and planning skills.
* Be able to acquire new knowledge and skills quickly and apply them to business situations.
* Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
* Knowledge and experience of Microsoft-based solutions.
Qualifications & Experience – Desirable
* Degree-level education or equivalent experience.
* Demonstrable experience in Service introduction and ‘Go to Market’ processes.
* Experience in an IT, Cloud or service-related industry.
