System Integration Engineer (Azure DevOps)

• Salary: £60,000-£65,000 (Plus Bonus and Additional Benefits)
• Fully remote – Requires travel into the office once a month (Reading)

As a rapidly growing company, our client has a busy Change agenda with a number of projects running each year. As a fully cloud organization their estate requires continuous attention towards new optimized infrastructure and configurations.

To support continued growth, they are seeking to improve the way they manage, track and deliver change across an increasingly complex architecture. Hence, they are looking for System Integration Engineer who can architect, develop and administer different environments on our Azure estate. You will be in charge of effective operations and development. You must strike a balance between delivery speed and service reliability, adept in managing problems, deploying and monitoring services, and creating software delivery pipelines using the Microsoft Azure platform.

Key Responsibilities:

As a System Integration Engineer, you will be responsible for managing our modern and complex Azure estate:

• Deploy/manage our multiple integrated systems.
• Managing web and database components of multiple applications.
• Deploy and manage virtual machines in a highly available setting.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure and network related issues effecting business.
• Design and put in place Azure data protection features.
• Oversee our application architecture suitability with our Azure estate.
• Communicating and managing infrastructure partner teams.
• Create and manage virtual networks with high levels of performance and security to handle workloads.
• Find and install the business’s best cloud-based solutions.
• Define and record the best methods and tactics for deploying applications and maintaining infrastructure.
• Ensure application size, performance, and uptime while upholding strict code quality criteria.

• Prior experience of working in the UK Financial Services Industry ideally Life and Pensions
• Experience of providing technical leadership on complex integration projects
• Ability to work remotely with little management supervision.
• Willingness to support and where necessary, co-ordinate the triage, identification and resolution of complex production and non-production issues
• Positive and enthusiastic approach and a strong team ethic.
• Ability to multi-task, be flexible and deal with interruptions and change.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Knowledge/Understanding of some of the following areas would be advantageous:

• Microsoft Azure cloud Technologies
• Windows and Linux operating system administration
• Azure DevOps
• Azure certifications in the specialized area preferably
• Experience using IaaS services
• Experience using PaaS services like database services, Kubernetes, etc.
• Understand the terminologies and how to navigate IP subnetting, Network Security Groups, routing, Azure Firewall, load balancing, DNS, and other networking concepts and protocols
• Relational and non-relational database technologies
• A background in either C#/.Net or Java-centric development
• Familiarity with Atlassian toolset (JIRA/Confluence)
• Familiarity with domain driven design an advantage
